Onverse Patcher[]
The patcher is finally ready. Thank you all who helped us to test it in an alpha state. While the patcher may seem inconsequential to most, it is something that helps us and the Mac/Linux users. Mac users will no longer have to download the full client each time, so we will be able to push out updates as necessary, rather than waiting for a full cycle.
Avatar Facelifts[]
Both the male and female avatars have had some work done to the faces. We added some more geometry to give better shape to the nose, eye and lip areas. They should be a bit more realistic.
Power-up System[]
- General - When collected, power-up icons will be displayed on the right side of your screen. On the top left of the icon will be displayed either the time remaining or the count of single-use power-ups left.
- Tool Targets - Tool targets now have the chance to spit out power-ups to further increase you point gathering. You can find power-ups that make you run faster, double jump and a 2x multiplier on Player Points that you collect.
- IceFall - Icefall now uses the power-up system as well. When you collect the power-ups, they will store into your power-up icons and you can collect more than one power-up at a time. We also added a new Double Knockoff bonus power-up into the mix.
3 New Stores[]
There are now two stores on the Island, Tuscan Decor and Island Apparel. Tuscan Décor sells all of the Tuscan themed furniture, no longer available in Chillax in the Hub. Island Apparel sells island-themed clothing, from swimsuits to leis and grass skirts. Duds is a new store in the Hub that replaces where Techtronics used to be, it is a new clothing store that has stuff that is all gender-neutral. Techtronics can still be found on the Ancient Moon at Xenshai Spaceport.
No More Repeated Items in Stores[]
Every store in Onverse has now been optimized to better the shopping experience. No two items should be up at the same time anymore; increasing the amount of options you have available each hour. Rare items are the only items that can show up more than once, but this will be reduced in frequency soon with an internal fix. Also, if a platform chooses to spawn the same item, it gets skipped in the replacement process, further increasing the efficiency of the hourly changes.
Store and Housing Optimization For Loading[]
You will notice that all the stores now have sliding doors that automatically open when entering/exiting. This is to help optimize areas with stores so that the items inside don't need to be accounted for when you are just walking around. The same goes for housing, now when you are a certain distance from houses, all the items inside disappear, greatly increasing loading efficiency in communities.
New Dances[]
Two new dances have been added, the Fist Pump and the Knee Thrust. Get down people!
New Premium Items[]
There is a new round of premium items, this time with more moderate pricing. They are the Alien Sleeping Tube, Tribal Wings and Faerie Wings!
Over 120 New Factory Fresh Items[]
Once again, Eslayer has outdone himself with over 120 new items for the Factory fresh store, many of which are straight from the Item Factory forum. See if you can find the items you suggested!
Learning Center Firework Frenzy[]
There are a lot more fireworks and in more centralized locations in the Learning Center. It is now a great place for new players to gather points for tool upgrades!
Linux Alpha Test Begins[]
Soon Onverse will be the 3rd virtual world ever to release a Linux client. If you are a Linux user, please email us at support(at)onverse(dot)com and let us know you'd like to help test the Linux Client!
Onverse yourself... get inside!
